John Daniel Kaye

Obituary Date: Thursday, September 2, 2010
John Daniel Kaye, 64, of Cumming, GA, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Chestnut Ridge Nursing Home after a long illness. Dan was a graduate of Michigan State University and a building contractor for 25 years. He was a member of Cumming First United Methodist Church since 1997. Dan enjoyed singing with the choir, as well as volunteering time for the Food Pantry and One Great Day of Service. He loved to travel, was a voracious reader of history, and an avid sports fan. Dan was an expert horseman, rode with the Metamora Hunt in Oxford, Michigan, and enjoyed sailing with his family on Lake Huron.

He is survived by his wife, Chere Kaye of Cumming, GA; son Nicholas Kaye of Rodney, MI; daughters, Emily Kaye of Chapel Hill, NC; Amy (John) Heckroth of Traverse City, MI, and Joanna (Mitchell) Lesinski of Cumming, GA, and grandchildren: Joshua, Alison, Joseph, Kayte, Noah, Jenna, and Sam.

Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Cumming First United Methodist Church, with the Reverends John Cromartie and Ron Preuss officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Cumming First United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Music Ministry in his memory.
