Edna C. Perry

Edna C. Perry, 91, of Dawsonville died Thursday September 3, 2010 at New Horizons Nursing Center following a period of declining health.

Born January 13, 1919 in Gillsville, GA to the late O. V. and Lena Buffington, she lived in Dawson County for a number of years, moved to Enterprise, Alabama and returned to Dawsonville 13 years ago. A homemaker at her death, she retired as a cashier for A & P after 20 years of service. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was also preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Perry; stepmother, Mattie Buffington; grandson, Jordon Brown; brothers, Raymond Buffington, Ralph Buffington and sister in law, Irene Buffington.

Surviving are her children, Aaron and Jo Ann Perry, Loganville, Joyce and Bill Sexton, Dawsonville, Jean and Clifford Rice, Locust Grove, Faye Perry, Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Gertrude Parker, Manchester, GA; brothers, Douglas Buffington, Loganville, Dan Buffington, Gillsville; 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 7, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church. Dr. Orin Sampson and Rev. Sven Mossenger will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 9 at the funeral home.
