Marquita Nix Moore, 68 of Gainesville died Tuesday August 31, 2010 at her residence.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Marquita grew up in Marietta, Georgia, she was a graduate of Sprayberry High School and in 1960 was "Miss Cobb County". She was the daughter of the late Willard G. and Billie Thomas Croft. Marquita had lived in Gainesville for a number of years where she was the President and Co-founder of Duplicating Products, Inc. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on Green Street.
Survivors include her son, Blake Nix, son and daughter-in-law; Matt and Becky Nix; daughters and sons-in-law; Amber and Chris Carter; Amy and Jon Pope, all of Gainesville; step-daughter and husband, Pam and Bill Cole, Woodstock. grandchildren; Cree and Witt Nix, Thomas, Matthew and Sam Carter, Andrew and Caroline Pope, all of Gainesville; Patrick Cole, Valdosta; Christen York, Tifton.
Marquita is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Nix.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday September 3, 2010 at the First Baptist Church on Green Street. The Rev. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Thursday September 2, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Ministry of Caring or Our Faith Our Future at the First Baptist Church, 751 Green Street, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.
