Pledger Gardiner

Ivie Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Pledger Gardiner, age 89, of 284 Morris Gardiner Rd., Maysville, GA. Mr. Gardiner was the son of the late Edward and Frellie Morris Gardiner. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Bonnie Lingerfelt Gardiner, 2 sons, Ron Gardiner and Johnny Gardiner, both of Maysville, 2 daughters, Mary Brantley of Maggie Valley, NC and Joyce Massey of Destin, FL, one brother, Albert Gardiner of Commerce and one sister, Elizabeth Wilson of Athens. Seven grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild also survive. Services for Mr. Gardiner will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 25 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. James Duncan and the Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Gardiner will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 1:30 until the time of service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM.
