Dan B. Elrod

Dr. Dan B. Elrod, 79, of Hazlehurst, Ga. formerly of Gainesville passed away Sunday August 22, 2010 in Roswell after an extended illness.


Dr. Elrod was born in Gainesville October 16,1930 to the late Lee Elrod and Cozetta Leach Elrod. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst and was a U.S. Airforce Veteran Having served in the Korean Conflict. He practiced Medicine in Hazlehurst from 1959-1995.


Survivors are his wife , Jackie Elrod of Hazlehurst, Children Becky Pirouz of Marietta, Mike Green of Athens, Deborah Martina of Alpharetta, Dan B. Elrod,Jr. of Martinez, Joanie Beasley of Vidalia, Marion Starnes of Ft. Mills, S.C. and Clifford Elrod of Germany. and a Brother Don Elrod of Oakwood.


Memorial services will be held Tuesday August 24th at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with Rev. Barry Owens, Rev. Bobby Johns and Rev. John Darsey officiating.


The family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to First Baptist Church, 30 N. Tallahassee St. , Hazlehurst, Ga. 31539.
