Oma Jane Holland, 92 of Gainesville passed away Thursday August 12, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Born at Brookton, Hall County, on September 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Naomi Nix Pitchford.
Mrs. Holland was a member of Dewberry Baptist Church #1 and Eastern Star Clermont Lodge #512. She was a lifelong homemaker. A loving wife, mother, grandmother great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend she will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Dewberry Baptist Church # 1, Clarks Bridge Rd. The Rev. Henry Loggins and Rev. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Holland; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie Nell and Bill Waters and 10 siblings.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Williams, Tena and Richard Riley both of Gainesville; grandchildren, Lynn and Ronnie Whited of Gainesville, Lisa and Ken Simmons of Gainesville, Bobby and Dr. Jan Smith of Cumming, Randy Smith of Gainesville, Jena Crumley of Oakwood, Pam and Keith Jenkins of Buford, Chris and Bambi Riley of Gainesville; 15 great-grandchildren; 8 great- great grandchildren; special extended family members Alice Head and girls of Clermont.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Dewberry Baptist Church # 1 Building Fund, 4616 Clarks Bridge Rd. Gainesville, GA 30506 or to The Mossy Creek United Methodist Campground, P.O. Box 557, Cleveland, GA 30528.
