Claude Chastain

Claude Chastain, 72, of Dawsonville died Wednesday August 11, 2010 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness.

Born February 9, 1938 to the late W. L. "Duck" and Odell Chastain, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Mr. Chastain retired from Georgia Power after over 30 years of service. He possessed a great love for gardening and enjoyed playing cards. Claude was of the Baptist faith and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Chastain, and son Danny Chastain.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia "Jennie" Chastain, Dawsonville; sons, Jeffrey Chastain, Dawsonville, Joseph Chastain, Utah; sister, Minnie Lois Chastain, Dawsonville; grandson, Logan Chastain, and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 14, 2010 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Hugh Fields and Rev. Jason Hamby will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
