Merlin Judson Thomas

Funeral services will be held 4:30pm Wednesday August 11, 2010 in Wards Funeral Home Chapel for Merlin Judson Thomas, 89, of Lula, Ga. Rev. Deron Crocker and Rev. Jewell Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Lula. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6pm- 9pm Tuesday and 2pm to the funeral hour on Wednesday. Mr. Thomas passed away Sunday August 8, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Thomas was born September 15, 1920 in Hall County and was the son of the late Solomon and Florence Loggins Thomas . He retired from Georgia Chair Factory where he worked 30 years .He was member of the Masonic Lodge for 40 years and attended Living Mission United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Louella Smith Thomas , brothers Willie Faye Thomas, Wiley Kimsey Thomas, Roy W. Thomas, and Cline John Thomas, and a brother-in-law William Sharpton. Survivors are Sister Elease Sharpton, Cleveland, Ga. , Brother & Sister in-law Jewell & Betty Thomas, Lula, Ga. , Sisters-in-law Ruby Thomas and Winnie Thomas both of Lula, Ga. , Care Givers Cindy Smith, Lula, Ga., and Janien Venson, Flowery Branch both neices and Davida Warren, Clermont, Ga. and a number of neices and nephews.
