Dayton Brown

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Dayton Brown, age 82, of Braselton, who passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2010. Mr. Brown, born May 31, 1927 in Habersham County, Georgia, was a son of the late, Charlie "MC" Brown and the late, Omie Dean Brown. He was a retired textile worker with the Jefferson and Walton Mills and a member of Revival Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Otis, Will, Noah, and Johnny Brown; and sisters: Mary Skelton and Lizzie Stewart.

Survivors include his wife, Jewell Stowe Brown of Braselton. Daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and David Ashworth of Auburn; Geraldine and Larry Gaddis of Braselton. Sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Ray and Ann Brown of Braselton; Freddie Lee and Sara Brown of Colbert. Sister, Sara Skelton of Commerce. Eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Revival Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Spruill, Pastor Terry Paige, and Rev. Robby Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Dee Gaddis, Toby Brown, Wesley Gaddis, Anthony Gaddis, Kevin Brown, and Taylor Gaddis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brady Barron and Randy Roberts.
