Roy Lee Bennett

Mr. Roy Lee Bennett, age 90, of Cumming, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010 following a farming accident. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Grace "Louise" Bennett; daughter, Madge (Bernice) Mount; parents, Ike and Mae Bennett and brother, Doyle Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was also a dedicated member of the Chestatee Masonic Lodge. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors include his daughters, Janet Childre of Rome, Sue Hall of Gainesville; daughters and sons in law, Peggy and Ray Reid of Cedartown, Freddie and Arthur Milford of Cumming, Vicki and David Stanford of Cumming; son in law, Gene Mount of Lindale; sisters, Irene Buice and Monteen Thomason of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, Lane and Lela Bennett of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; his beloved church family and lodge brothers; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.


Funeral services will be held, Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Blackburn, Rev. Monroe Gunter, and Rev. Bud Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday, August 7th from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday, August 8th from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
