Ada Hardy Elder

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Ada Hardy Elder, age 77, of Jefferson, who passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2010. Mrs. Elder, born October 18, 1932 in Jefferson, Georgia, was a daughter of the late, Ed and Ada Tolbert Hardy. Mrs. Elder was a graduate of Jefferson High School and the University of Georgia where she received a Masters Degree in Education. Mrs. Elder was retired from the Jefferson High School where she worked as a librarian; and was a member of Galilee Christian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Elder. Brother, Joel Cecil (Jack) Hardy; sister, Billie Kathryn Hardy Wells.

Survivors include her sons, Bill Elder of Gainesville; John Elder of Jefferson; Bert Elder of Jefferson; and Joseph Elder (Julie) of Conyers. Grandchildren: Daniel Brady Elder, Joshua Benjamin Elder, Lisa Katherine Elder, Emily Ellen Elder, Joanna Marie Elder, Rachel Lynn Elder, and Caleb Michael Elder.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Galilee Christian Church with Minister Tom Plank officiating. Interment will follow in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Galilee Christian Church Building Fund, 2191 Galilee Church Road Jefferson, GA 30549.
