Geraldine Dunahoo "Jerrye" Purcell

Mrs. Geraldine Dunahoo "Jerrye" Purcell, age 74 of Jefferson, Georgia
passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010 after a period of declining
health.
Mrs. Purcell was born in Winder, Georgia, the daughter of the late Horace and Mazie Wilbanks Dunahoo. Mrs. Purcell was a graduate
of the Georgia State College for Women, was a lifetime educator having recently retired. Mrs. Purcell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson and was a faithful volunteer at the Arc of Jackson County.

Surviving Mrs. Purcell is her husband of 49 years, Jack Purcell of Jefferson. Daughter Jackie (Doug) Thurmond of Jefferson, Son, Carroll Purcell of North Carolina. Sisters, Marie Smith of Jonesboro, JoBenton of Athens, Brothers, Ray Donahoo of Dunwoody, Terry Donahoo of Winder, Don Donahoo of Winder. Four grandsons, Cam, Cason, Tanner,and Tyson Thurmond of Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from the First Baptist Church of Jefferson with Dr. Michael Helms officiating with burial to follow in Woodbine Cemetery. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Dwayne Smith, Steve Smith, Terry Smith, Cam Thurmond, Cason Thurmond, Tanner Thurmond, Tyson Thurmond. The family
will recieve friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 3, 2010
5-8 P.M.. Flowers are optional, memorial may be made to the Arc of Jackson County, 243 Washington Street, Jefferson, Georgia 30549.
