Thelma V. Wilkerson

Mrs. Thelma V. Wilkerson, age 93, of Lumpkin County, died July 19, 2010 at the Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, GA.

Mrs. Wilkerson was born in Punta Gorda, FL March 15, 1917. She had lived in Lumpkin County for the past 23 years and was a former longtime resident of Tampa, FL. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was the daughter of the late Brown Higgin & Mary Jane Zinn and was also preceded in death by an infant son; son, John Weingard; sister, Jeanette Snow; brother, John Henry Fielding; and granddaughter, Gidget Moore.

Mrs. Wilkerson is survived by her husband, Henry P. Wilkerson SR, Lumpkin County, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Kozak, Dahlonega, GA, Barbara & Jim Clements, Cleveland, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Henry & Celeste Wilkerson, Dahlonega, GA. Eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

A memorial service for Mrs. Wilkerson is scheduled for 4 PM Sunday July 25, 2010 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

The family will receive friends prior to the service and immediately following the service.
