Lois Colston Smith

Lois Colston Smith, age 85 of Demorest, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at The Oaks at Scenic View following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County on May 31, 1925, she was the daughter of the late E. L. and Aphia Garrison Colston. She was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and babysitting. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Ferd Smith; son-in-law, Ricky Forrester; brother, Lewis Colston; sisters, Ladelle Carlan and Flora Nell Black.

Surviving are daughter, Jo Ann Forrester of Demorest; grandchildren, John Forrester and his wife, Casi of Cornelia and Amanda Hopper and her husband, Reid of Baldwin; great grandchildren, Melanie Forrester and Will Hopper; nieces, Judy Purcell and Janis Underwood both of Cornelia; nephew, Don Black of Cleveland.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Chris York and Rev. Greg Purcell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 pm on Monday.
