Janie Lou Black Chambers

Janie Lou Black Chambers, age 73 of Demorest, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in White County on November 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lou Dorsey Black. She was a homemaker and member of Chattahoochee Baptist Church. Mrs. Chambers enjoyed gardening, mowing the yard, cleaning, camping and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Chambers; brothers, Jerry Black, Doyle Black, Guy Black and Alan Black and sisters, Bobby Jordan, Lucille Mize and Eula Dorsey.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Carol & James Dockery of Demorest and Sharon & Dale Ansley of Mt. Airy; daughter, Peggy Jo Chambers of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Jim & Pat Chambers of Demorest; brother and sister-in-law, Leon & Geraldine Black of Cleveland; grandchildren, Jamie Ivester, Jessica Speed, Justin Chambers, Ashely Wynveen, Shelby Ansley, Brandon Ansley and Chris Ansley; great grandchildren, Adam Ivester, Logan Ivester, Noah Ivester, Peyton Speed, Regan Speed, Madison Ansley, Jeremy Wynveen, Ashton Wynveen, Katlyn Ansley, Spencer Ansley, Cooper Ansley and Alexis Grace Wynveen; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Monday, July 19, 2010, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. J. R. Elrod officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Sunday. The family is at the residence.
