Jane Bishop Coleman

Jane Bishop Coleman daughter of Anderson Hix Bishop and Mabel Georgia Kennedy Bishop. She was the third of 10 children. She has one surviving sister, Joan Bishop Johnston. Born December 30, 1912 in Atlanta, Georgia. Died July 11, 2010. She was a graduate of Commercial High School.
She was married to Lt. Col (Ret) Leonard Howell Coleman, Sr. for 67 years. Mr. Coleman died in 2001. Together they taught Bible Studies at Morningside Baptist Church in Atlanta. Founded Carriage Cleaners. She raised three young children alone while her husband was called to the Pacific Theater command for five years during WW II.
She lived in Atlanta until 2008. Since then, she had made her home at Morningside Assisted Living in Gainesville where she was lovingly cared for.
She is survived by her devoted and loving family. Daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dr. Clarence Torrance; son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Howell and Evelyn Coleman; and daughter, Mary Beth Jones and the late Dr. Ellis Jones. Grandchildren, Jennifer and Keith Wood, Cristina and Davis Edwards, Susan and Steve Welsh, Paige and Tim Pethel, Dr. Holly and Howell Coleman, Mary Ellen and Scott Klinger, Leslie and David Weirman, Ashley and Ellis Jones and 19 great-grandchildren.
