Wilma Frances "Trip" Hemphill Turner

Wilma Frances "Trip" Hemphill Turner, 84, of Gainesville, passed into heaven Wednesday, July 7. She is survived by a sister, Mildred Castleberry, Cumming, a daughter, Judi, of Nashville, TN, sons Ben, Dade City, FL and Johnny, Gainesville, and two grandchildren, Tiffany Turner and Michael Turner, both of Gainesville, sister-in-law, Penny Hemphill Miller, Nashville, TN, niece, Nita Baker, who was her beloved friend, neighbor, gardening partner, companion and caretaker for many years, numerous other nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Victoria Lathem Hemphill, father, John Ray Hemphill, brother, Dr. Roger Hemphill, sister, Margaret Hemphill Bennett, and daughter-in-law, Derri Lindsey Turner.

A native of Forsyth County, Ms. Turner graduated from Chestatee High School and Perry Business School. She was one of the original employees of Hall County 911 in 1979, when it was headquartered at Fire Station #1. She retired in 1993, but continued to work for Hall County for another 10 years at both 9ll and the Sheriffâ
