Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday June 22, 2010 in Wards Funeral Home Chapel for Bobby Douglas Splawn, Sr., 67, of Gainesville. Rev. Jeffrey Brookshire Officiating . Burial in Riverview Memorial Park , Smyrna, Ga. The family will receive friends 6pm- 8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Splawn passed away Saturday June 19, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. He had worked for Pike Electric in North Carolina and as a Security Officer. He served in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist Faith. Those wishing may make donations to the Hall County Humane Society, 845 West Ridge Rd., Gainesville, Ga. 30501. He is survived by his wife Amalia Shiretzki Splawn, Gainesville. Sons, Bobby Douglas Splawn, Jr. and Michael Douglas Splawn both of Gainesville . Daughters, Stephanie Tara Splawn, Woodstock, Ga. , Angela Dutton, Cornelia, Ga. , Paula Kelly, Maysville,Ga., and Renee Howell, Cayman Islands . Brother, Vernon Splawn, Loganville, Ga., Sisters, Margaret Splawn, Forest City, N.C., Helen Bowman , Casar, N.C., Shirley Glawson and Sylvia Scruggs,both of Forest City, N.C. Close Friend, Howard Scales, Gainesville. 24 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and a number of Nieces , Nephews and other relatives survive.
