Sara Baker Nix

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Sara Baker Nix, age 74, of Jefferson, who passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Mrs. Nix was born on March 23, 1936 in Statham, GA, a daughter to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Rea Whitehead Baker. Mrs. Nix was a member of Galilee Christian Church and was preceded in death by her sister, Louise McDaniel and brothers, Ed, John, Bud and Bill Baker.

Survivors include her Husband, Howard Nix, Jefferson, sons and daughters in law, James and Cathi Nix, Hull, Chris and Missy Nix, Jefferson, Daughter and son in law, Diane and Charles Pittman, Jefferson, sister, Jewell Lee Gunter, Bogart, brothers and sisters in law, Walter and Jeanette Baker, Statham, Leonard and Runelle Baker, Lexington, grandchildren, Jeff, Taylor and Cody Nix, Jason and Brad Pittman, Laurie Beth (Nix) and Jason Ring.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11am in the Galilee Christian Church with Rev. Don Brandon officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:30- 11:00am Friday before the service. The burial will be in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery and the visitation will be held on Thursday from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
