Robert Dalrymple

Mr. Robert Morris Dalrymple age 87, of Helen passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Dalrymple was born on March 25, 1923 to the late William D. and Ethel Morris Dalrymple. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Lillian Dalrymple and a brother Donald Dalrymple. Mr. Dalrymple was a veteran of WWII having served in Iwo
Jima in the U.S. Navy. He was with Western Electric for over 35 years and retired as their Public Relations Manager. He was the First Democratic Mayor of Denville, NJ. Mr. Dalrymple was a former President of the Senior Golf Association in Hilton Head and was also on the Board of Directors of The Oyster Reef Golf Club. Mr. Dalrymple was a member of the Episcopal Church of Hilton Head.

Survivors include his wife: Avalon Dalrymple of Helen; daughter: Linda Robinson, Alpharetta; son: Robert W. Dalrymple, Los Angeles, CA: step-daughters: DeDee Conneff, Savannah; Trixy Paloger, Metter, GA; grandchildren: Brandy Snell, Metter, GA; Elizabeth Conneff, and Caitlin Conneff, both of Savannah, Christiaan Schrimpf, Madelyn Rose Paloger and Avalon Paloger, all of Metter; and sister: Dorothy Kelly, NJ.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
