Robert Douglas Castleberry

Mr. Robert Douglas Castleberry, age 75, of Roopville, GA, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, May 22, 2010 after failing health. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mayrell Castleberry, his loving wife, Betty Hughes Castleberry and his brother, Emmett Edward (Bud) Castleberry.

Mr. Castleberry retired from the Forsyth County School System in 1996 after 20 years service of driving a school bus. He was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County until after his retirement when he moved to Carroll County, where he enjoyed cattle farming. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include his wife, LaQuita (Weida) Wade Castleberry; children, Carole and Wendell McCleskey, Gary and Janet Castleberry and Cheryl and Eddie McDonald; grandchildren, Greg, Wendy and Eric; great granddaughter, Cody Ann; step-sons Bobby Walker and Chris Walker; brothers, Charlie Castleberry and Jerry Castleberry; sister, Jane Dollyhigh; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held, Monday, May 24, 2010 at 4:00 pm in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cecil Wheeler and Rev. Jean Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 23rd from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Monday, May 24th from 11:00 am until the hour of service.
