Roy W. Sweatman

Rev. Roy W. Sweatman, age 91, a native of Forsyth County, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 following an extended illness. He was a licensed minister and member of Daves Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Vernice Pruitt Sweatman; children, Horace and Margie Sweatman of Royston, Morris and Sandra Sweatman, Jerry and Ruth Sweatman and Diane and Marvin Oaks all of Carnesville; 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Benefield and Marie Pruitt both of Cumming and Sarah Howard of St. George, GA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held, Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Daves Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Pruitt, Rev. Scott Sweatman, Rev. Michael Cantrell, Rev. Alan Sweatman and Rev. Carrel Pruitt officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 21st from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Saturday, May 22nd from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
