Goldie Mae Monroe

Goldie Mae Monroe, 81, of Cumming, GA died at Embracing Hospice House on May 12, 2010. Born in Claiborne County, TN she was the daughter of the late James and Helen Brock.

Her beloved husband, Mansel Monroe also predeceased her.

Mrs. Monroe was a member of Greater Heights Baptist Church. A great cook, she also loved flowers and had a passion for gardening. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by her children, Debbie (Tim) Tierce of Palm Bay, FL, Larry (Patti) Monroe of Cumming, GA, Jimmy (Wendy) Monroe of Cumming, GA and Teresa Holt of TN; sister, Mardell Brewer of Tazwell, TN; brother, J.C.(Blanche) Brock of Sandusky, OH; grandchildren, Kelli (Tobin) Schroeder, Robert (Brenda) Tierce, Nathan (Paige) Monroe, Caleb Monroe, Jenni Monroe, Jaimee Monroe, Jodee Monroe, Brittney Powers, Kristin Monroe and Cody Powers; and great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Aaron and Ruthie.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am on Monday, May 17, 2010 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Grinstead will officiate. MInterment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 2:00 â
