Gayress Thelma Spain

Mrs. Gayress Thelma (Thurmond) Spain, age 77, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, May 14, 2010 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment to follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverend David Matthews and Reverend Mark Hutchins will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Spain was born in Jackson County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late James E. Thurmond and Rosa (Bowles) Thurmond. She was retired from Chicopee Manufacturing. Mrs. Spain was a Christian and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the Kingâ
