Marie Dillard

Marie Dillard, age 87 of Villa Rica formerly of Demorest, passed away Saturday, May 08, 2010, at Tanner Hospital.

Born in Habersham County on January 06, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nora McEntyre Chambers. Mrs. Dillard was a homemaker and a member of Chattahoochee Baptist Church in Cleveland GA. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Dillard; brother, Haskel Chambers; sisters, Neller Holcomb and Carolyn Crane.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Gary & Betty Dillard of Lithia Springs; brother, Oram Chambers of Cleveland; sisters, Ruth Fortenberry of Demorest, Evelyn Wilson of Belmont, NC, Blanche Carpenter of Augusta, SC, Mary Willow Hood of Demorest; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Verner London officiating. Interment will follow in Chattahoochee Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
