Stanley Duckett

Stanley Duckett, age 60 of the Hollingsworth Community, passed away Wednesday, May 05, 2010, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Duckett was born in Jackson County on September 28, 1949, he was the son of Lila Mae Chambers Duckett of the Hollingsworth Community and the late Young Duckett. Mr. Duckett was employed as a landfill manger with Green Leaf Landfill in Cumming and he was previously the landfill manager at Habersham County Landfill, where he served for 30 plus years. He was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilton Duckett and Dolphus Duckett.

Surviving in addition to mother, are wife of 41 years, Betty Ann Duckett of the Hollingsworth Community; sons and daughters-in-law, Timmy & Michelle Duckett and Phillip & Kim Duckett all of the Hollingsworth Community; sister and brother-in-law, Debra & Tommy White of the Rock Springs Community; brother, David Duckett of the Hollingsworth Community; grandchildren, Ethan Duckett, Brittani Duckett, Taylor Duckett, Ben Duckett and Julie Duckett; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm Saturday, May 08, 2010, at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Burrell and Pastor Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 3-5 & 7-9 pm on Friday. The family is at the residence.
