Mamie Addis Mote, age 91, of Demorest passed away on Monday, April 26, 2010, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Mote was born in Habersham County, on April 30, 1918. She was the daughter of the late John and Ella Anderson Addis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Cleveland Mote; sisters, Hazel Gibby, Mae Jenkins, Zadie Pitts and Lillie Addis and brother, Clifford Addis. Mrs. Mote was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
Survivors include Joyce and George DeMott, Savannah, and Carol and Randell Kent, Cleveland; 5 grandchildren, Brian DeMott, Raleigh, NC, Teresa Clifton, Cleveland, Anne Wiggins, Savannah, Kevin Kent, Cumming, and Darren Kent, Dawsonville, GA; 10 great-grandchildren, Caleb Kent, Joshua Kent, Daniela Kent, Nicole Clifton, Melissa Wiggins, Austin Wiggins, Linzy Kent, Sydney Kent, Faith Sinclair and Jacob Sinclair.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
