J. B. Mooney

Mr. J. B. Mooney, age 88, of Gainesville, GA (Forsyth County), passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010.

Mr. Mooney was a member of Salem Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years.

Mr. Mooney was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Ada Mooney; sisters, Lena Smith, Lucille Hill, and Aline Minor; brothers, Elmer Mooney, Harold Mooney, Woodrow Mooney and Eugene Mooney.


Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Voncile Howard Mooney of Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Diane Mooney of Gainesville, Ronnie and Frances Mooney of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Don Landers of Gainesville; grandchildren, Leeanne and Tim Mullinax, Dawn and Matthew Sosebee, Steve and Emilie Mooney, Stacy and Amanda Mooney, Matthew and Mark Mundy; great grandchildren, Katherine Mullinax, Kendall Sosebee, Vada Mooney, Conner Sosebee, Jordan Mooney and Clara Mooney; special caretakers, Marie Harkins and Lynn LeBlanc; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.


A Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 12, 2010 at 4:00 pm at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Sutton, Rev. Donnie Nix and Rev. Shad Faulkner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday, April 11th from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Monday, April 12th from 11:00 am until the time of service.
