Cora Geriah Melissa Smolk, 102 of Sherman Allen Road, Gainesville, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at New Horizons West Nursing Home Following an extended illness

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 12, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with internment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Katie Lancaster and Sister Jeanette Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smolk was born December 19, 1907 in Lumpkin County to the late John Balus Crane and Minera Ward Crane. She was a member of The Free Chapel Worship Center.

Mrs.Smolk was survived by her daughter, Reda Smolk Wright of Gainesville, Daughter and Son-law- Dora Blanche and Virdis H Weaver of Gainesville, Son and Daughter-in-law William B. and Joan A. Smolk of Cumming. Brother and sister-in-law John B. and Nell Crane of Clermont. Six Grandchildren, Ten Great-Grandchildren, Eight Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
