Nell Fitts Moody, age 85, of Demorest, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2010, at The Oaks at Scenic View following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Polk County on August 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Paul, Sr. and Grace Eaton Fitts. Mrs. Moody retired from Habersham County School Systems as a paraprofessional with 18 years of service. She was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church and she enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. She also volunteered at Sharing & Caring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan C. Moody.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Ruthanne & Phillip Irvin of Cornelia and Malissa & Hamp Boatwright of Kennesaw; brother, Paul Fitts, Jr. of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Justin Irvin and his wife, Tiffany of Mt. Airy and Ashley Boatwright of Kennesaw; and great-grandson, Brody Irvin.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Thursday, April 8, 2010, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Dr. Charlie Green officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 7th. The family is at the residence.
