David G. Cantrell, age 57, of Flowery Branch, formerly of White County, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010.
Born in White County on April 29, 1952, he was a son of the late Leman and Louise Sosebee Cantrell. He was of the Baptist faith and served our country proudly in the United States National Guard for eight years. In his spare time, Mr. Cantrell enjoyed attending various flea markets and he was also involved in various small businesses. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Cantrell.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Natasha Cantrell of Gainesville; daughter, Susan Cantrell of Gainesville; companion, Wanda Phillips of Flowery Branch; sisters, Shelby Jones of Augusta, Barbara Umbehant of Demorest, Brenda Cantrell of Cornelia and Dorothy Jean Broom of Clarkesville; brothers, Charles Cantrell of Baldwin and Carson Cantrell of Gainesville; grandchildren, Lauren Legg, Connor Legg, Braxton Hollis and Gage Cantrell.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Friday, April 2, 2010, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Wayne Fowler and Rev. Margaret Nix officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, April 1st.
