Walter Danchak

Walter Danchak, 75, of Dahlonega passed away on March 26, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Mr. Danchak was born on June 30, 1934, son of the late Mary and Deemer Danchak of Simpson, PA. He was a graduate of the Wharton School of Business and Finance of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

Walt was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the CIC division in Japan from 1956-1959 during the Cold War.

He had a thirty-three year career with IBM from 1959-1992, working in Owego, NY, Bethesda, MD, Huntsville, AL, White Plains, NY, and Atlanta, GA. Upon retiring, he became a real estate appraiser in the Atlanta area.

Walter was a member of Carbondale Lodge 247, F&AM and received his fifty year pin in 2009. He was a man of integrity who devoted himself to helping others with his kindness and wisdom. He was a member of the Cooper-Green Menâ
