Katharina Aschenbrenner Colombo

Katharina Aschenbrenner Colombo, born in Kufstein-Tirol-Austria on Nov. 24, 1910, passed away on Mar. 24, 2010 after an extended illness, at the Foothills Retirement Home in Dahlonega, GA. She was preceded in death by her late husband M/SGT Louis P. Colombo. M/SGT Colombo retired from active military duty to serve as leader in the Cadet Program at North Georgia College and State University. The Order of Colombo Company was established in his honor. She was also preceded in death by her late daughter, Erika J. Werts and son-in-law, William H. Werts, of Philadelphia, PA, her father and mother, Peter and Juliane Aschenbrenner; sister, Anna; brothers, Peter and Paul Aschenbrenner, all of Kufstein-Tirol-Austria.

Katharina A. Colombo is survived by three grandsons; Erik Werts of South Daytona Beach, FL, Vernon and Marlene Werts of Ridley Park, PA, and David Werts of Pennsville, NJ; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, sister in law Elizabeth Aschenbrenner of Kufstein-Tirol-Austria; extended family Doris Giammusso of Glenn Cove, NY, Bob Colombo of Indiacanti, FL, and Joseph Colombo of Windham, NH.
