Eleanor Campion Koukol, age 97, of Oakwood passed away at Laurel Bay Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
Visitation for Mrs. Koukol will be on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the funeral on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the chapel of Mason & Ward Funeral Home.
Mrs. Koukol was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Jan. 16, 1913, to Guy and Elizabeth Campion. She retired from the Cleveland Board of Education as a school secretary. She was a grand officer in the Eastern Stars of Ohio. Mrs. Koukol moved to Georgia in 1985 and became a very active member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and with Oakwood Elementary School.
Mrs. Koukol is preceded in death by her husband, Norman A. Koukol; her parents; her sister, Virginia Nast Bolick; and her brothers, Glen Campion and Milton Wood.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Becky Koukol, Cleveland, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and David Schalliol, Oakwood; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Sara and Daniel Hodge, Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Shirley Heil, Marietta; special dear friend, Betty Gravenhorst; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
