Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Beatrice Elva Hantus, age 70, of Jefferson who passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Mrs. Hantus, born in Millville, New Jersey, was a daughter of the late, George and Irma Bulther DeLacroix. She worked as a substitute teacher with South Jackson Elementary School and was a member of the Christian Assembly. Mrs. Hantus was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Hantus.
Survivors include her husband, Michael N. Hantus, Jr. of Jefferson; children, Richard Michael and Katrina Lynn Hantus of Jefferson, Ruth Charlotte and Robert McFarrin of Jefferson, Dr. Stephen Timothy and Mindi Hantus of Cleveland, OH, Luke and Janice Hantus of Calhoun, and Glory and Jerry Elliott of Auburn; sister, Virginia Turner of Huntington Beach, CA; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 26, 2010 from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Michael Hantus, Michael Ulteig, and Dave Banks officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
