Marcus Martin

Rev. Marcus R. Martin, age 84 of Clarkesville, passed away peacefully at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Born in Dawson County on February 07, 1926, he was the son of the late Utah and Ola Pirkle Martin. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Merritt Martin.

At the age of 18, Marcus graduated from Sardis High School in May of 1944 and enlisted in the United States Army where he served honorably in the 331st Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Presidentâ
