Mrs. Ruth Gazaway Ledford, age 80, of Cumming passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church and retired from Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. Mrs. Ledford was a member of the Silver Belles of Silver City Chapter of the Red Hat Society, the Forsyth County Senior Center and the Oasis Choir. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wesley Gazaway.
Survivors include her children, Corby and Denise Ledford of Dawsonville, Glennis and Blaine Buice of Cumming; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.C. and Bertha Gazaway of Powder Springs, Richard and Winifred Gazaway of Marietta and Clifton and Mary Gazaway of Taylor, SC; 2 grandchildren, Amelia Kaylin and Kelsey Leigh Ledford; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Concord Baptist Church with the remains placed in state at 2:00 pm. Dr. Rubin Smith, Dr. Lester Cooper and Pastor Tom Scaife will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 23rd from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
