Mr. John Fletcher Yarbrough, 86, of Pinetree Trail, Gainesville died Sunday March 21, 2010 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center
A native of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Mr. Yarbrough had lived in Hall County since 1956. He was a graduate of Auburn University and was retired from the Poultry Times where he served as editor and publisher. Mr. Yarbrough served in the United Sates Army during World War II in the European Theatre. Mr. Yarbrough was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Millie Yarbrough, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law; John and Glenyce Yarbrough, Albertville, Alabama; daughter and son-in-law; Janice and Travis Rogers, Gainesville; grandchildren, Mills Rogers, Anna Rogers, both of Gainesville; Eric and Kristy Robinson, Albertville, Alabama; great-grandchild, Will Robinson, Albertville, Alabama; sister, Helen Stevenson, Pinson, Alabama; brother and sister-in-law; Walton and Betty Yarbrough, Jerusalem, Israel. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Yarbrough is preceded in death by his parents, John F. III and Lorena Parker Yarbrough and a sister, Rena Doty.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. Dr. Terry Walton will officiate. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends in the Gathering Room of the church from noon until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
