Ray Daniels, Sr., age 64, of Cornelia, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Heritage Healthcare of Toccoa following an extended illness.
Born in Kinard, Florida on July 27, 1945, he was the son of the late Effrin and Winnie Mae Nettles Daniels. He was a truck driver and attended Shady Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed wood-working, spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved dogs, Meme and Corky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Daniels, one brother and two sisters.
Surviving are wife, Claudia Daniels of Cornelia; daughters, Faith Allen of Cornelia, Marsha Daniels of Clarkesville, Tami Strickland of Winder, Keysha Hamilton of Gainesville and Donna Daniels of Cornelia; sons, Matthew Daniels of South Carolina, Bo Daniels, Stacey Daniels and Michael Hamilton, all of Cornelia; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Lester Haynes, Pastor Olivia Christopherson and Rev. Nathaniel Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour. The family is at the residence.
