Ethel Irene Chapman Webb, age 93, of Dawsonville and formerly of Demorest, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at her residence.
Born in White County on June 15, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Fields and Minnie Walls Chapman. She was employed in the textile industry having retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and was a member of Demorest Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard David Webb; brothers, Leonard Chapman, Paul Chapman, Ray Chapman and Charles Chapman; sisters, Ruby Church, Ruth Reepes and Florence Hames.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Flora & Preston Wright of Fruithurst, AL; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel & Brenda Webb of Dawsonville and David & Cheryl Webb of Demorest; sisters, Lois Heaton of Hollywood, Mary McDonald of Clarkesville, and Helen Davis of McRay; also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Christopher Webb and Preston Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Demorest City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 pm & 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, March 5th.
