A.C. Duckworth, 85, of Gainesville passed away Monday March 1, 2010 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Lovell and Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday and Wednesday from 6pm-9pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Duckworth was born May 10, 1924 in Union County, Georgia to the late Archie Duckworth and Hollie Collins Duckworth. Mr. Duckworth retired from Leece-Neville and was a member of Dewberry Baptist Church #2. He was preceded in death by his son Carlton (Duck) Duckworth, and daughter, Bernice Duckworth. Mr. Duckworth was married for 66 years and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Maudie Elease Dyer Duckworth of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Arlene & Richard Schroeder of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Richard Thomas of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Glinda & Frank Harben of Gainesville, daughter Linda Puckett of Gainesville, daughter-in-law Judy Duckworth, grandchildren Stacey Duckworth, Brandy Jalbert, Cara Thomas, Sheena Thomas, Paige Puckett, Holly Puckett, Daniel Harben, step-grandchildren Tami Micallef, Terri Shroeder, Lera Harben, Sandra Lancaster, James Lancaster, Kristie Ellis, Carol Maney, great grandchildren Austin and Dillon Duckworth, Chase and Kaely Jalbert, Gabby Micallef, sister Grace Self of Dalton, and a host of other relatives.
