Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. William Marion Sharpton, age 81, of Cleveland. Mr. Sharpton passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Services are scheduled for 11: 00 am Thursday, February 25,2010 with Rev. Jewel Thomas and the Rev. Melvin Baugh officiating, interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park
Mr. Sharpton was born in Hall County on April 14, 1928 to Luther Sharpton and Emma Boyle Sharpton. He retired from Leece-Neville with 30 years service and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lula, Georgia
Mr. Sharpton is preceded in death by his mother, Emma Sharpton, brother, Walter Sharton; brothers-in-law, Fay Thomas, Wiley Thomas and Roy Thomas; and sisters-in-law Susan Thomas and Louella Thomas.
Survivors include his wife Elease Thomas Sharpton of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. Sharpton and Sabine Sharpton of Cleveland; granddaughters, Christina and Amber Sharpton of Cleveland; brothers-in-law, Merlin Thomas, Cline Thomas and Jewell Thomas all of Lula; sisters-in-law, Winnie Thomas, Ruby Thomas and Betty Jean Thomas all of Lula; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 24th, at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Those wishing to do so may send condolences to the family of Mr. Sharpton to
