Barton Raines Bright, Jr.

Barton Raines Bright, Jr. age 88 of Gainesville, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness.

Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Georgia National Cemetery.

Mr. Bright was born December 24, 1921 in Lubberly, Louisiana to the late Barton Raines Bright, Sr. He was retired from the Air Force as a Fighter Pilot and was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Marietta. Mr. Bright was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Bright.

Mr. Bright is survived by his sons, Dallas Bright of Gainesville and Barton Bright, III of Marietta, grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bright of Canton, Kimberly Bright Cepeda, Katie Bright Mims, Daniel Urban, Aidan Bright, Breyan Bright, Savannah Ramey and Jacob Ramey all of Gainesville, great-grandchildren, Dallas Mims, Arrie Cepeda, Damon Cepeda and Jason Cepeda all of Gainesville.

The family has ask that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Air Force Foundation.
