Aaron Rufus Cash

Aaron Rufus Cash, 82, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 18, 2010. He was born December 9, 1927, in Gainesville, Georgia.
Aaron had been a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church for 42 years, where he had served in the Prison Ministry and the Nursing Home Ministry of the church. A devoted husband and father, he was a veteran of the Korean War, attended Tennessee Temple Bible College, and was retired from Roper Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Lou Ella Cash; his brothers, Frank Cash, Carl Cash; his sisters Mary Louise Cash, Irma Cash, Grace Cash, Lillian Cantrell; and great grandson, Aaron Lee Blackwell.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Bonnie Moore Cash; two daughters, Angela (Randy) Ellis of Chattanooga, and Joy (Oscar) Payne of Louisville, KY; son, Anthony Cash of Chattanooga; two sisters, Ruth Brownlow of Gainesville, and Francis Vernon of Atlanta; three grandsons, Tyler (Samantha) Blackwell of Louisville, KY, and Garrett and Grant Ellis of Chattanooga; two granddaughters Nina (Jeremy) McDougal of Chattanooga and Lauren Ellis of Chattanooga; four great grandchildren, Courtney Blackwell, Aidan Blackwell, Abigail McDougal, and Bentley McDougal, and soon to be Adrianna Hope Blackwell; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 22, 2010 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Lloyd Workman officiating.
Visitation will be Monday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
