Lottie Lou Golden Adams

Lottie Lou Golden Adams, age 95, of Cornelia passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010, at a private healthcare facility.

Born in Stephens County on October 18, 1914, she was the daughter of the late J. C. and Florence Smith Golden. Ms. Adams was a graduate of Cornelia High School, Piedmont College and the University of Georgia, where she earned a degree in education. Upon graduation, Ms. Adams taught at North Habersham and Habersham Central High School for a total of 41 years. She was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved with the Jenny Wade Circle and the Administrative Board. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Walton Adams; brother and sister-in-law, Dorsey & Grace Golden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie & Evan Housworth and Jane & Max Miller; and sister, Julia Ann Golden.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Joyce A. & Robert Jordan of Cornelia; grandson and his wife, Christopher & Megan Head of Gainesville.

Graveside services are 2:00 pm Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Confidence United Methodist Church cemetery in Eastanollee with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 10th. All friends and family are requested to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 pm on Thursday.
