Memorial services for Wayne C. Lynd, age 84, of Clarkesville will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Don Drawdy officiating.
Mr. Lynd passed away February 1, 2010 at Habersham Medical Center.
Born in Cary, NC on June 28, 1925, Mr. Lynd was the son of the late Claud C. and Lillian Schulken Lynd. He was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran, having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Lynd was retired from Amerifirst Bank where he was Vice President and Regional Manager. After moving to the Batesville community in 1992, Mr. Lynd was a member of the Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Lynd was a member of the Clarkesville Lions Club, Past President of the Florida Lions Eye Bank, and he was a Master Mason.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jean Colson Lynd of Clarkesville; daughter, Joan Butson of Ocala, FL; sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Karon Lynd of Ft. Worth, TX and Craig and Carol Lynd of Ocoee, FL; sister-in-law, Janet Davis of Midlothian, VA; grandchildren Michele, Scott, Ashleigh, and Christina; and great-grandchildren Kendal, Karter, Cody, Brandon, Devon, and Rylee, as well as several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
