Betty Guffey, 73, of Dawsonville died Monday January 25, 2010 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born January 12, 1937 in Amber, Oklahoma to the late Odisa and Mary Nye, she moved from Forsyth County to Dawson County 22 years ago. Mrs. Guffey owned and operated a cleaning service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Clay Guffey, and several sisters and brothers.
Surviving are her sons, Craig A. Guffey, Dawsonville, Clark A. Richardson, Terrell, TX, Michael W. Richardson, Reno, Nevada; sister, Peggy Hilti, Oklahoma; brothers, Ronnie Lowe, Oklahoma, Jimmy Ray Nye, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.
At her request Mrs. Guffey was cremated and no services are planned.
