Carl Howard Moody, age 52, of Sugar Hill passed away Friday, January 22, 2010. He graduated from Corning West High School and Corning Community College and Academy of Fire Science for EMT Training. While in New York, he worked for the Corning Ambulance Service and was Chief of the Caton Fire Department. Carl loved Nascar racing and tropical vacations, especially Mexico and Jamaica. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lois Moody.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Donna Moody of Sugar Hill; son, Adam Girardi of Duluth; daughter, Carie Moody of Lilburn; brothers, Richard Moody & Mary Hepworth of Caton, New York and Charles B. Moody of Lake George, New York; sisters, Carol & Stephen Matusick of Caton, New York and Joyce Ripley of Elmira, New York; grandchildren, Maritza, Desiree and Nester Filomeno of Atlanta; brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Cindy Barton of Magnolia, Texas; sister-in-law, Vicki and Chris Kettner; mother-in-law, Rosann Barton; brother-in-law, Joseph Barton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends, neighbors and co-workers at Tristar of America who loved him very much.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, January 27th at the Family Life Church, 1414 Park Commons Square, Suwanee, Georgia 30024. Officiating will be Pastor Derek Watson. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, January 26th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in New York. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in the name of Carl Moody.
