Larry Wayne Powers

Larry Wayne Powers, age 62, of Toccoa, GA, died Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Powers was born in Habersham County, GA, on November 28, 1947 to Mr. Hoyt Powers and the late Mrs. Christine Powers. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Oklahoma City during the Vietnam War.
Survivors, in addition to his father, Mr. Hoyt Powers, Cornelia, GA, include: his wife: Amanda R. Isler-Powers, Toccoa, GA; his son and daughter-in-law: Steven and Michelle Powers, Commerce, GA; his grandchildren: Lindsey Powers and Haley Powers, both of Commerce, GA; his sister and brother-in-law: Debbie and Carless Eller, Cornelia, GA; 3 nephews; 2 nieces; 2 great-nephews; 2 great-nieces. Mr. Powers was an avid animal lover and is also survived by his loving pets, Knob, Abby, Josie, Molly, and Gaines.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Mickey Umbehant officiating.
The family will receive friends at the South Chapel from 6 until 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010. A family visitation will also be held at the Powers home in Toccoa, GA.
