Lt. Col. William G. Borella (U.S.A.F. Ret.), age 94, of Covington passed away Monday, January 18, 2010. Lt. Col. Borella was born March 15, 1915 in Newport, VT to the late John B. and Mabel Hannah Borella. He graduated from Norwich University in Vermont in 1940 and had a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, serving in the European Theatre during World War II under the 9th Air Force and the 19th Tactical Air Command, which was a new wing created to support Gen. Pattonâ
